Women Of Color Slayed The Red Carpet Last Night — Here are Our Three Favorite Looks
Last night was a celebration of the best television and film have to offer — and while we’re still doing happy dances for the winners (shoutout to If Beale Street Could Talk), it’s the makeup looks and gowns that still have us talking 24 hours later. Many of our favorite looks were rocked by women of color, who wore an array of bold lips, unexpected pops of color, and smoky eyes. That’s why we’ve rounded up the best of the night ahead — feel free to screenshot, save and recreate for your next big event.
Penelope Cruz
Actress and Lancôme Ambassadress Penelope Cruz stunned on the carpet last night, rocking a smoky, peachy, bronzey-golden look we’ll be recreating all 2019. The look channeled her “signature Dolce Vita style,” and featured a smoky eye and neutral lip. Her face was painted by the iconic Charlotte Tilbury, who used Lancôme Color Design 5 Pan Eyeshadow in Sienna Sultry on the eye andLancôme Le Crayon Kohl in Café Serre to create her signature cat eye. Her sultry eye was paired with a peachy lip, a combo of Lancôme Le Lip Liner in Rose and L'Absolu Rouge in Si Seulement.

Lupita Nyong’o
Nyong'o, nominated for her role as Nakia in Black Panther, turned heads in her vibrant, cobalt blue look. “I wanted the makeup to feel fun and be a modern take on the 80s with contrasting colors on eyes and lips by playing with electric blue liner, lashes and deep ruby lips,” says celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose, who added colored lashes to give the look an extra pop. It perfectly complemented her halo-like coiff and reminds us that blue and red together is always a good idea. PS: Want to achieve cobalt mascara at home? Check out our how-to.

Constance Wu
Actress Constance Wu, acclaimed for her role in Crazy Rich Asians, rocked a nude feminine mani that flawlessly matched her aura red-carpet royalty. “We began by filing Constance’s nails into an almond shape for a soft, feminine look,” says celebrity manicurist Steph Stone. “When it came to choosing a color, she decided to play off her neutral, fairy-tale inspired dress by wearing an opaque nude, and we ultimately landed on essie’s wild nude, a light tan as the perfect match.” Wu’s elegant, neutral look was truly a mani fit for a queen.
