18 Beauty Products Our Editors Are Buying This May

It’s a brand new month, which means a new round of products is making their way onto store shelves and into our makeup bags. These are the products Makeup.com’s editors can’t live without this May.

Dawn, Editorial Director

Armani Neo Nudes A-Blush

This summer, I’m obsessed with the monochromatic trend, and this is the product I’m using to get the look at home. It’s a sheer, stain-like wash of color that’s pretty on cheeks, lips and even eyes (if I’m feeling adventurous). It lasts all day and looks fresh and real — like I just finished a hot yoga class.

Youth to the People SuperBerry Hydrate and Glow Oil

Face oil often feels like an extra step I rarely have time for. However, once I started using this oil I couldn’t skip it. It leaves my skin dewy and plump, and I especially love dabbing a few drops over makeup like highlighter.

Essie Gel Couture Handmaid of Honor

This blush tone is perfect for spring, and the hint of metallic makes it a little more fun. I’m also a sucker for a designer collaboration — this polish is from the Reem Acra collection.

Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil

This warm, silky oil really did help brighten my skin after just a few days. I love it on its own or layered with other oils or creams, it truly changes the game.

Volition Prismatic Luminizing Shield SPF 50

I’ve been using this for a week and can already tell it will be a summer staple. Not only is it a physical sunscreen, it also gives my skin an effortless, instant glow.

NYX Professional Makeup Bright Idea Illuminating Stick in Brick Red Blaze

This has become one of my favorite desk drawer products. I can swipe Brick Red Blaze on my lips and cheeks and go from office to happy hour in mere seconds.

Justine, Visual Designer

Naked Petite Heat

I am really glad Urban Decay came out with a mini version of their Naked Heat palette. I didn't think I needed the full palette for everyday — so this smaller version is perfect for me. I love that it’s so compact and can easily be thrown into my travel bag as well.

L’Oréal Paris Lash Paradise

I started switching up my mascara and was very impressed with this product. It gives my lashes major length and volume — and I love that it doesn’t feel too clunky.

Lanolips Tinted Balm

I really loved the very subtle tint in this balm, and it helps keeps my lips moisturized AF. Giving them a little color boost definitely doesn’t hurt either.

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

This past winter has been absolutely brutal on my skin — I suffer from severe eczema (always have my whole life!) and this year, it decided to crop up on my face. While getting the help I needed from my derm (ALWAYS go to a doctor if you suffer from anything out of the ordinary skin-wise), I was in search of something extremely gentle and hydrating to soothe my slowly-healing skin. The Jet Lag mask totally exceeded my expectations in this department — I love prepping my skin for makeup with this because it really give it the boost of hydration it needs.

NYX Professional Makeup Strictly Vinyl Liquid Lip Gloss in Bombshell

I love a good textured lip product — especially when it’s innovative. That’s why my eyes totally lit up when I found out NYX had developed a “vinyl” lip gloss that achieves a super pigmented, gloriously glossy lip. Bombshell has been my go-to lip color as of late, and I can foresee this becoming a major go-to for me this summer.

Byredo Elevator Music

I’m a sucker for great scents, and I’m even more of a sucker for cool collabs. This Off White x Byredo collab definitely hit every mark — it’s a super versatile, unisex scent that seriously has the familiar twang of elevator music, but also captures the eclectic aura of that, as Virgil Abloh puts it, “grey area between black and white.”

Essence Shine Shine Shine Clear Gloss

I'm obsessed with lip gloss, and I'm constantly in search of the perfect formula that gives me a wet lip look. For me, the gloss needs to be non-sticky, glossy and wear comfortably throughout the day. This gloss exceeds my expectations, and at $3 a pop the price can't be beat.

YSL Touche Eclat All In One Glow Tinted Moisturizer

I'm not one for heavy foundation so this tinted moisturizer is perfect for me. It can be built up to medium coverage and offers a little extra SPF protection. It also has skin-loving ingredients like hyaluronic acid and vitamin E so I can feel good about adding this into my everyday makeup routine.

NYX Professional Makeup Away We Glow Shadow Palette

I'm an eyeshadow palette hoarder, and I'm quick to add new launches to my stash. This palette is perfect for summer makeup looks and the shades are expertly matched so you can use one palette to achieve your look. I love the Lovebeam color story, a peachy-bronze palette with 10 buttery shades you can't help but fall in love with.
