The Nail Looks You’ll See Everywhere This Spring

The Nail Looks You’ll See Everywhere This Spring

If you’re the type who needs to stay ahead of the trends or starts thinking about your Halloween costume six months in advance, then spring nails are probably already on the brain. Lucky for you, we scoured the runways, nail shops and mood boards for the nails you’ll be seeing everywhere come spring — and we have a feeling you’re going to be obsessed (you can thank us later).

Barely-There Neutrals

From Alexander Wang to Michael Costello, taupe and beige nails were on a lot of runways for spring 2018. Whether they were decked out with thin lines or stood alone, the muted color palette popped up over and over again. Want to get the look? Try Essie Topless & Barefoot (the same shade was spotted backstage at both Wang and Costello). According to Rita Remark, Essie Nail Artist, Topless & Barefoot is a “chameleon nude” that looks soft pink on some and ivory on others –– in other words, it’s bomb on pretty much everyone. If you’re looking for something more unique to your skintone, Alicia Torello has a few suggestions. For the Kith Spring 2018 show, she played with Essie Bare With Me, Wild Nude, Mixtaupe or Ballet Slippers –– all great options if you want to opt for a skin-like finish.

Sporty Americana Nails

This season we saw nails take a patriotic turn, and it’s not hard to guess why. These Americana manis mix geometric nail art with iconic red, white and blue for a sporty and fun look. Whether it was “champion” themed nails at Kith or hand-lettered “M’s” at Monse, it’s clear that clean, geometric lines will be everywhere in the next few months, and we’re already obsessed! Want the look? Try Essie Really Red, Blanc and Butler Please for a perfectly patriotic feel. Sound like your thing? Get a good striping brush and give these manis a shot.

Metallic Manis

Dark nails for spring seems counterintuitive, but hear us out. Blingy manis are season-less and look good no matter the occasion or time of year. If you want something light and fun, try Essie Penny Talk, Buy Me A Cameo or Imported Bubbly a la Michael Costello –– metallic shades that almost feel neutral. If you’re down to go dark, try the Rebecca Minkoff mani inspired by Rolling Stones muse Anita Pallenberg. Drawing on rock n’ roll and the 60’s cat eye, Michelle Saunders mixed Essie Girly Grunge with Essie Dressed to the Nineties to create a nail look that looks badass and new.
