It’s a brand new month (and new year!), which means a new round of products is making their way onto store shelves and into our makeup bags. These are the products Makeup.com’s editors can’t live without this January.
There’s nothing worse than tugging on your eyelid with a dry pencil, and this one is the exact opposite. It’s beyond silky, glides on like a dream, has tons of color payoff and lasts all day — even on the waterline. I love this gray-black color with a hint of glimmer.
Lancôme Skin Feels Good Hydrating Skin Tint
I’m not a foundation girl; I just love a barer skin look — especially if I’m having a good skin day. But I still need something to even out discoloration, and that’s where this minimalist tint comes in. It gives me just enough coverage, is hydrating (key this time of year) and comes in 11 shades. FYI: It’s exclusive to Nordstrom right now.
A friend who lived abroad in Australia introduced me to Papaw years ago and I never looked back. This moisturizing ointment has a multitude of uses but won my heart as a lip balm. It wears well on its own or under other products, especially matte lipsticks or a bit of highlighter on your lips. And the multiple different sized tubes and pots means I can stash some just about everywhere — my bag, my desk, the car, bedside.
I used the same makeup for about 100 years until I tried this one. The coverage is significant without feeling cakey, and doesn't dry out after a day of running between overheated offices and cold city streets.
This contouring kit is the three-in-one palette I've been waiting for my whole contouring life. These contouring shades are by far the most natural that I've tried — contouring without looking like a Bratz doll. The kit includes powders, creams and one pearl shade for highlighting, which makes it an essential if you're looking to optimize your makeup routine (and storage!). I was already a Naked addict, but Shapeshifter has become a permanent fixture in my collection with its range of deep to light shades that will have me covered from my pasty winter to my bronzed summer skin.
In my never-ending desire to be mistaken for a French girl in a lineup, I am always looking for the natural yet chic products that a French girl might be trying RN. The French Girl brand Le Lip Tint in Rose Noire has replaced my go-to red lipstick this month because winter is real y'all. The mineral, buttery rich formula makes this tinted balm a naturally moisturizing mixture of goodness to later on your lips as obsessively as you want. The sheer finish of this particular shade makes it one of the most winter-friendly lip products I've tried lately.
The palette released this fall has really lived up to the hype. With holiday travel, this has become another efficient go-to with concealers, lip balms, eyeshadows, blush, bronzer, highlighter and mascara all in one place. I find that the blush makes a good eyeshadow for a citrusy vibe that still makes my fair skin seem sunny and warm. I wear it with just mascara and no liner, especially when I want my brows to stand out more.
I've been using True Match Liquid Glow Illuminator under my foundation, and I'm loving how it's giving me a natural, glowing-complexion. If you're obsessed with products that give you a fresh-faced, natural glow, I highly recommend trying this product.
Rouge Bunny Rouge Lacquer Eyeliner
As a cat eye enthusiast, I'm always scouting out new liquid liner pens. I happened to come across this one, and I'm obsessed with it because it's super pigmented, long-lasting and very easy to apply.
I thought I had all the makeup brushes that I needed until IT Cosmetics sent me this amazing (and super cool) 4-in-1 brush. You can click up on the brush to use it as a shadow brush, crease brush, smudge brush and liner brush. It's ideal for when you're on the go and need a multipurpose tool.
I’ve been looking for a good matte primer for a while, so when I saw that L’Oréal Paris came out with this matte lock it, I knew I had to try. And, without surprise, I’m so happy I did. This is super lightweight, feels nice and airy and keeps my makeup budge-free.
When I heard that NYX was coming out with a cushion applicator, I’ll admit I was hesitant. I don’t often like cushion applicators, but after trying Cool Intentions, I’ve been converted. This is super soft, cushiony and comfortable to wear and even more fun to apply. Obsessed.
Byredo Velvet Haze
If you know me well, you know I love a great winter fragrance. This winter I’ve settled on Velvet Haze as my absolute favorite. It’s super dreamy, smells luxurious and makes for a really killer Instagram, if I do say so myself.

Fresh Beauty Lotus Youth Preserve Rescue Mask
This mask feels so nice on the skin — it's cooling and exfoliating at the same time. Formulated with seaweed and lotus flowers (two super nourishing ingredients), it really does wonders for making you feel radiant AF. Whenever I use it I feel like I'm really doing something good for myself so it's no surprise it made it onto my favorites list this month.
I'm OBSESSED with this stuff because it gives you a smooth canvas to work with without feeling like there’s a mask on top of your face. There's something about the *glow* that makes me feel like I'm doing a little something extra, particularly on days when I go barefaced — save for my favorite highlighter.
I'm a little late to the Monsieur Big appreciation party, but better late than never right? I'm famous for complaining about my small lashes but after trying this mascara I believe volume and length is possible. I use it with my fave L'Oréal lash primer, and I swear it makes me feel like a new woman.
