6 Makeup Products Inspired by Your Favorite Old School Christmas Movies

When I think of Christmas, a lot of strong imagery comes to mind: like a leg lamp and a box stamped with ‘Fra-gi-le’(LOL). Truth be told, watching classic Christmas movies was a massive part of my holiday upbringing — so when thinking about gifting this year, I thought it would be super fun to add a makeup spin to some of my favorite films. Ahead, find six makeup gifts inspired by the characters we know, love and who might even get us to put on a pink bunny suit.

“A Christmas Story”

IT Cosmetics Superhero Liner

Inspired by the infamous leg lamp, the IT Cosmetics Superhero Liner is a sexy makeup gift that will complement just about any fishnet stocking (pun intended). It’s thick, pigmented and applies smoothly — everything that embodies the aura of that glowing lamp in the Parker’s living room.

“Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer and The Island of The Misfit Toys”

Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick In 714

What’s a classic Christmas film-inspired makeup product without a Rudolph approved red lip? This liquid lipstick from Urban Decay is a pigmented matte that won’t budge throughout the day, into evening holiday festivities, or a trek through the Island of Misfit Toys.

“Frosty The Snowman”

NYX Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder in Snow Rose

If you’re looking for that ultimate frosty glow, NYX Snow Rose is the highlighter for you. Pearlized with pink and white flecks, this illuminator is straight outta that old silk hat our snowman friend came from, I swear.

“The Nightmare Before Christmas”

Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara

Although it’s widely up for debate whether this is a Halloween (?!) or Christmas movie, I’ve always seen it as the perfect in between. And if there’s anything Burton paid extra attention to in this film, it had to have been Sally’s killer lashes. What would be the product she uses in our universe, if we had to guess? Monsieur Big, hands down.

“The Grinch”

NYX Professional Makeup Rouge Cream Blush in Red Cheeks

Who-ville just got a little more beautified. The classic community that eventually accepts The Grinch is known for their distinctive features and rosy cheeks — this is why the NYX Cream Blush in Red Cheeks is our pick for this film. Maybe Christmas doesn’t come from a store — but it certainly doesn’t hurt.

“The Year Without Santa Clause”

L’Oréal Lumi Shimmerista Highlighting Powder in Moonlight and Sunlight

This classic movie is memorable to me because of its showdown between the Heat Miser and the Snow Miser — I literally can’t be the only one who always has that song stuck in their head (or well maybe I am.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) But inspired by the firey and snowy look of their universes, the L’Oréal Shimmerista Powders in Moonlight and Sunlight are perfect for a cool icey or firey holiday look.
