The holiday season is upon us so we’ve decided to share some tips on how to make your eyes pop! Whether you’re tired from the added things to do this month but still want to look fresh or want your eyes to pop for upcoming holiday parties, these quick easy tricks will definitely help!
Start with an eyeshadow primer
The last thing you want is for you eyeshadow to wear off or crease midday. Using a primer is the perfect way to avoid this from happening. Eyelid primers make your eyelid smooth so eyeshadows will apply nicer, look more pigmented, and will stay put and looking their best all day and night!
Try the NYX Proof It! Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer. It will help intensify your shadows and keep them looking their best without creasing or fading no matter the weather!
Camouflage your dark circles
Apply concealer to your under eye area after foundation to better camouflage them. This will give the appearance of bright, well-rested looking eyes, and who doesn't want that?
Try the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser for Dark Circles Treatment Concealer. This one is Canada's #1 best-selling concealer, and for good reason! The super-concentrated formula erases dark circles so you look instantly refreshed. It also features a micro-corrector applicator to give amazing coverage without feeling heavy!
Creating depth with your eyeshadow is another great way to make your eyes pop. You want to start by first applying a light coloured shadow all over your eyelid. Then, take a darker hue and apply it in your crease above your lid. This will add some dimension to your eye look and is super easy to do. Just make sure you blend the lid colour with the crease colour to avoid any harsh lines!
Try the Urban Decay Naked Palette. This palette has so many beautiful shades to choose from, and you can create a variety of different looks with it! My favourite way to create depth is by applying "Naked" all over my lid and following up with "Darkhorse" in my crease. I also like to finish things off by patting a little bit of "Virgin" in my inner corner to really brighten things up. The result is a really natural and pretty!
Don't skip eyeliner
You can use a gel, pencil, or liquid liner on your upper lash line depending on your preferences. This step will make all the difference when it comes to making your eyes stand out! If you have light coloured eyes, opt for a brown liner. If you have dark coloured eyes, choose a black eyeliner as that will really make your eyes pop.
Try and apply your liner as close to your lash line as possible. For a smokier look, apply a black or brown eyeshadow onto your lower lash line using a small eyeshadow brush. Just make sure your top and bottom liner meet at the outer corner of your eye!
Try the Lancôme Liner Plume. This eyeliner is ultra-pigmented and easy to work with so you can get a precise application!
Don’t forget your lashes
Start off by curling your lashes. This will help make eyes look more awake and your lashes look fuller. Hold the curl for a few seconds before releasing.
We recommend the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler. The iconic, best-selling eyelash curler will give you the perfect curl that will hold all day!
Then, apply two to three coats of mascara from the base of your lashes to the tip on both your upper and lower lashes. This will give you dramatic looking lashes that long long and full!
Try the L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara. This mascara has it all and will give you both intense volume and length for your best looking lashes! What's more is the formula layers really well so you can apply multiple coats without worrying about your mascara flaking, smudging, or clumping!
