The Ultimate Smoked Wing Eyeliner Makeup Tutorial — In Just 4 Steps

As beauty fiends, we’re always looking for new ways to update classic makeup trends. This goes for anything and everything eyeliner, whether it’s feathering an electric color or spicing up a cat eye. Ahead, we did just this with NYC makeup artist Justine Sweetman. She put a new spin on everyday eyeliner and created a cool smoky wing. Here’s how to nail the look.  

You’ll Need:

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Crushed Foil Metallic Eyeshadow in Gilded Gold

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro Last Liner in Black

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara

IT Cosmetics Fully Eye Smudger Brush #221

STEP 1: Start by applying a soft gold shadow onto your lids . Sweetman used the L’Oréal Paris Crushed Foil Metallic Shadow in Gilded Gold.

STEP 2: Next, add your liner — Sweetman suggests drawing a really crisp line and slightly winging it out.

STEP 3: Grab your brush. “I would avoid an angled brush,” says Sweetman. “Instead, use a straight flat ended brush to buff along the line vertically.” The vertical blurring will help to smoke out the cat eye you already have, without extending or disrupting the line.

STEP 4: Finish off the look with a coat of the L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara to add drama and define the eyes.
