Kaia Gerber

At the tender age of 17, it’s generally acceptable to have little to show for on your résumé. But if you’re Kaia Gerber, daughter of Cindy Crawford, your modeling career might have casually taken off at ten years old. The model has walked the most iconic runways, has starred in the most prestigious campaigns and boasts 3.8 million followers on Instagram — like it’s easy.

“To be the new face of YSL Beauté is an opportunity to write a new story full of fun, color and makeup,” the model said in an interview with WWD.  “I love the DNA of a brand that is so subversive, while being so luxurious and cool.”

The official news was announced on Instagram  on October 1. YSL Beauty teased fans by posting a series of zoomed-in portraits (of her eyes, lips and her eyes, again) captioned with hints about their newest ambassador. “Need a clue? She will be our youngest ambassador,” YSL wrote in an Instagram caption. Unsurprisingly, Instagram users recognized Gerber and the Instagram captions were full of comments tagging the supermodel. This photo series led up to a striking portrait of Kaia announcing her as the new global ambassador. Her edgy makeup look, consisting of a glitter smoky eye, voluminous lashes and a neutral lip was brought to life by the amazing Tom Pecheux, Global Beauty Director for YSL Beauty.

Gerber is joining the ranks of Zoë Kravitz, Halsey and an array of other badass babes you've surely seen far and wide. Thankfully, you won’t have to wait long to see Gerber, too. She makes her debut starting this January as the face of Rouge Volupté Shine moisturizing lipstick, Touche Éclat and Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils.
