6 Best Highlighters of 2019

In the spirit of the holidays and as a send-off to 2019, let’s raise a toast to the highlighters, illuminators and glow-givers that have come into our lives and made a home on our vanities this past year. They’ve given us some shimmer on days when our skin was looking a little less than radiant, amped up our glam for nights out and helped us achieve an au naturale dew on the regular. Ahead, we’re shouting out our favorite highlights that not only got us through this year, but will most definitely continue to help us glow on in 2020.

Maybelline New York Master Chrome Jelly Highlighter

We’d rather not disclose how many a times this Maybelline pick saved us from looking like we just rolled out of bed. Granted, we had just rolled out of bed, but a quick blend of this chromatic, opalescent natural highlight perked up our dull complexions in no time at all. We love swiping this on with our fingers to create a buildable finish that catches the light at every turn.

NYX Professional Makeup Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator

It’s no surprise that the NYX Born To Glow Radiant Foundation is one of our all-time favorite complexion products. That being said, we weren’t shocked that the Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator was equally as amazing. With a four different shades, a natural shimmer and a moisturizing formula, we’re all over the natural, radiant finish this illuminator adds to our look. (Pro tip: Mix in the illuminator with your foundation for an all-over glow.)

Lancôme Dual Finish Highlighting Palette Holiday 2019

This super-sleek highlighting palette graced our makeup bag just in time for the holiday szn, and TBH we haven’t put it down since we scooped it up. It’s made up of three gorgeous shades: Gilded Gold, Frosted Rose and Sparkling Peach. These hues are great for adding a lit-from-within glow to just about any look.

L’Oréal Paris Summer Belle Beach Bae Face and Body Liquid Luminizer

Feeling the winter blues? This L’Oréal Paris Luminizer has you covered. Not only did it single-handedly glam up our complexions during no-makeup beach days, but it’s also gives a great, natural bronze for the times when your (faux) tan has faded. Whether your vacation-bound or just looking for a little sun-kissed color on your face or body, we recommend adding this luminizer to your makeup kit.

Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand

In 2019 our collection of liquid highlighters grew big time. And while our current stash is overflowing, this Charlotte Tilbury pick is one we keep going back to. The Beauty Light Wand is our steady go-to for soft glam. The cushion applicator makes it ridiculously easy to use and spreads on the product evenly. A few dabs on the high points of the face gives an insane glow that catches the light at literally every turn.

Patrick Ta Major Glow Highlighting Mist

Patrick Ta brings major (we repeat, major) glow with this highlighting mist. It’s truly one of a kind and packs shine that we didn’t even know we needed. It’s iridescent sheen can be used all over the body, be it collar bones, legs or cheekbones. Just make sure to shake the bottle well and spray from six inches away from where you want it to.
