OK. We know we’ve been a tad obsessive about bright, neon makeup lately. From tutorials to new product launches, we’re quick to tell you to go bold or go home. That being said, we feel we should clarify that we still have some serious love and loyalty for neutral shades as well. Trends come and go, but nude makeup will never go out of style in our beauty book. To show some love to our fave neutral looks, we asked makeup guru Alana Dawn to show us a few cool color combos that will make you want to go totally nude.

Step 1: Dust a taupe-colored eye shadow all the over the lids and into the crease — blend for a more natural look.
Step 2: Line lips with a flesh-toned, nude lip liner and follow with a nude lip gloss.
Step 1: Apply an espresso-colored shadow to the outer corner of the eye and into the crease. Blend it well so it looks smoky.
Step 2: Take a rich, brown matte lip cream and apply it to the lips, leaving the center of the lighter for a subtle, ombré effect.

Step 1: Cover the lid with a light, pinkish-nude eye shadow.
Step 2: Swipe on a soft pink lipstick and dab it with a tissue. Layer on a nude lip gloss for a more toned-down look.
