With frequent rain showers and fluctuating temperatures, spring can be such a weather tease. But even if sunny days aren’t in the forecast, you can still catch some mood-boosting rays in the form of sun-inspired makeup. We tasked makeup artist Aniyah Smith with creating a graphic eye look inspired by our favorite star using colored eyeliner and rhinestones. The bright result is bringing us all the summer vibes. Read on to learn how you can get the sunshine-y look at home.

  • STEP 1:

    Draw an Arc

Using the NYX Professional Makeup Vivid Brights Crème Colour in Light Show, a golden yellow, Smith drew an arc from the inner to the outer corner of the eyes above her crease. She widened the line as she went and brought it down to the outer lash line.

  • STEP 2:

    Create Your Rays

Using the same NYX product, Smith painted five spikes along the arc that decreased in size as she got closer to the inner corner of the eyes. She also created two small spikes under the eyes at the outer edge.

    Finish With Rhinestones

To really make the sun eye look shine, Smith applied rhinestones in various shapes in between the rays and under the eyes.
