How to Get a Rosy Glow For the Best Golden Hour Selfies This Summer

Rosé — otherwise known as the unofficial drink of the summer — season is upon us. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur, just in it for the charcuterie board or are looking to try out a new look for the post-vax gatherings filling up your calendar, Drew Richards, a UK-based makeup artist, has created a makeup look that’s all things glowy, rosy and romantic — perfect for golden hour selfies while sipping on pink wine. Below, she breaks down how to create the look in just five easy steps.

STEP 1:
Start With A Cream Eyeshadow
Grab a creamy rose-colored eyeshadow, like the Urban Decay Cosmetics 24/7 Shadow Stick in shade Pop Off and apply it onto the eyelids. Then, using a fluffy eyeshadow brush, blend it out for a soft, diffused effect. To add intensity and shimmer, Richards added a bit of the Urban Decay Cosmetics 24/7 Shadow in Sin all over the lids as well.

STEP 2:
Add Dimension With Eyeliner
Create a winged look using eyeliner (we love the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro Last Liner Waterproof Pencil Eyeliner) or a brown eyeshadow and an angled eyeshadow brush. “I buffed out the brown eyeshadow very gently to make it look softer,” says Richards. To finish, add two to three coats of the L’Oréal Paris Air Volume Waterproof Mega Mascara.

STEP 3:
Brush The Brows
To get a fluffy brow look, use the NYX Professional Makeup The Brow Glue and brush the brows in an upward motion. “Use a brow pencil to fill in any sparseness you may have,” says Richards. (The Maybelline New York Brow Ultra Slim Defining Eyebrow Pencil can do the trick!)

STEP 4:
Get That Glow
The key to rosy radiance: a lightweight, glowy primer and foundation duo like the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer and the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. Richards amped up her glow with a liquid highlighter placed on the high points of her face.

Rosy Cheeks
Make like Richards and go heavy on the blush, because what would a rosé-inspired glow be without rosy cheeks? Maybelline New York Cheek Heat in Rose Flush is the perfect shade to add to your cheeks and the bridge of your nose to complete the pretty-in-pink look.
