There’s no denying that matte makeup is having a moment right now. While we love a glow, you can never go wrong with a shine-free, contoured complexion. We get that making the transition from dewy, shimmery products to matte foundation and shadows can be intimidating, but we promise after checking out these looks, you’ll be ready to embrace the matte side. From neon green eye makeup to flawless coverage, here are our favorite matte makeup looks on Instagram.

Sultry and Smoky

For a traditional makeup look complete with brown smoky eyes and a velvet matte complexion, take a cue from Shauna Russell. She adds a bit of dimension into her look by using a gloss and dabbing some highlighter on her nose, but overall sticks to a fierce and shine-free vibe.

All About the Lip

If you want transfer-proof glam that won’t rub off on your face mask, then a matte lippie is a must. We’re loving the Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Drama Matte Lipstick for anyone looking to amp up the drama. Pair it with some black eyeliner and you’ll have a statement-making matte look.

Gimme Green

We’re all for a pop of color, so it’s no surprise that these neon green matte eyes are fulfilling our makeup fantasies. From the bright shadows and the falsies to the flawless blending technique, it’s safe to say we’re obsessed with this look.

Matte Not Flat

Matte makeup doesn’t have to look cakey or heavy and this photo is proof. The eyeshadow, lipstick and foundation may all be shine-free, but the overall look is full of dimension. And can we just take a moment to appreciate this fabulous cut crease?

Berry Blended

Monochromatic more your speed? Pick a brighter or bolder matte eyeshadow and smoke it out over your entire lid. Keep the rest of your complexion fairly simple. If you want to add a bit more oomph to your look, choose a matte lipstick and blush that matches the shade of your shadow.
