Better Together: How to Choose an Eye Cream to Wear Under Your ConcealerJune 05, 2018
Even at 23, my under-eye circles have plagued me for years (ok, well a *few* years). And while I’m not sure whether their blue-purple appearance is due to fatigue or allergies (most likely a nice combo of both), both getting rid of them and covering them up is now at the top of my skin care and makeup priority list. And that’s how I found the magic combo that has instantly become a daily ritual: rich eye cream and a hefty concealer.
I start by applying the Skinceuticals AGE Eye Complex Eye Cream under my eyes each morning (you can double this up at night for extra treatment) and I let this layer be my base and primer for concealer. This cream combats wrinkles, dark circles and keeps your under eyes feeling fresh. I love how creamy and thick it is when you first apply it — but as you blend it in, it becomes completely weightless.
This brings me to the second part of this hefty under eye-circle cover up: the Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Concealer. This stuff super creamy and highly pigmented — all it takes is three dots under each eye to conceal any puffiness, redness or purple-blue skin discoloration. I like to pat this in with my fourth finger (no brushes required), and like the wave of a magic wand my circles seem to disappear right before my eyes.
