5 Trippy Tie-Dye Eye Makeup Looks That Will Make Your Head Spin

Tie-dye prints have been everywhere lately — including on the faces (and nails!) of makeup artists all over Instagram. The rainbow design is difficult to master, especially when it comes to creating a tie-dye eye makeup look. Working with the small surface area of the lid requires major skill. Brave enough to try your hand at the psychedelic look? Ahead, we rounded up six of our favorite tie-dye eye makeup looks.

A Tie-Dye Halo

This rainbow halo created by @makeup.lois made our list thanks to its mesmerizing flow of colors. We love how she started by building out the yellows, oranges and reds at the center of the eye, and worked it into a deep purple crease and light blue-green halo.

A Swirly Tie-Dye Eye

For a swirl that’s seriously trippy, click the play button on this video from @chloefitzmua. Part of what makes this look so cool is that she didn’t blend the colors together, rather they each stand out on their own to create an intensely-pigmented vortex.

A Trippy Rainbow Eye

This watercolor-esque tie-dye is one of our favorite looks because @_beatbycheeks literally makes it seem effortless. The colors appear as if they’re been layered on top of each other.

A Neon Tie-Dye Eye

For another unique take on the tie-dye effect, try this totally breathtaking neon look by @mylanielaniee. On her post,  she offers a step-by-step guide on how to recreate the look, along with a time-lapse video of exactly how she put it together using bright pink, yellow, green and orange shadows.

A Floating Tie-Dye Eye

Floating eyeshadow has been a trend we keep obsessing over, so this tie-dye take on the look by @franduartemakeup seriously has our hearts. We love how she gradually transitioned from warm reds, to yellows and oranges to cool greens and purples and then back to red again on her upper lid.

A Pastel Tie-Dye Eye

This pastel tie-dye eye by @apentedeira_ really brings the groovy trend to 2020. Instead of opting for the classic primary colors, this look is made up of light pink, sunshine yellow, lilac and sky blue shades.
