I’m a setting spray stan. Not only do I love them because they help give my makeup a more natural, less cakey finish, but I’m also the girl who will shamelessly pull out a setting spray at any given moment and douse her face for a refreshing boost. With that said, when Maybelline New York announced it was launching a Finishing Glass Spray, I immediately knew I had to get my hands on it — and I’m so happy I did. About the Formula
The Maybelline New York Finishing Glass Spray is an ultra-dewy finishing spray that’s inspired by the K-beauty trend glass skin. (ICYMI, glass skin appears to be super hydrated, smooth and glossy, like a pane of glass.) This spray is a bi-phase formula that’s made with 65% water and 35% oil to instantly give your complexion a long-lasting hydrated look and glassy shine. It also features a cloud-mist spray pattern to ensure an even application that doesn’t ruin your makeup. It can be used as the last step in your routine to set everything in place, or it can be used on its own for a pick me up throughout the day.
My Review
Before receiving this product, I will admit that I was a little nervous about the idea of spritizing an oil-infused spray to set my makeup. I’m all for a dewy makeup look, but I was nervous it would make my oily-to-combination skin look greasy. Luckily, I was instantly proven wrong. After shaking the bottle to ensure the water and oil were fully mixed, I doused my face and immediately fell in love. As soon as the formula hit my skin, it felt super lightweight and very refreshing. To say the least, I was pleasantly surprised. Once it dried, my no-makeup makeup look appeared as though I was beaming from within. It gave my complexion a beautiful and glowing sheen. Because I loved what this product did for my makeup, I was curious to see how it would work on its own because, honestly, ever since I’ve started practicing social distancing, I haven’t been wearing much makeup, if any at all. So, I decided to apply it on my bare face, and it gave me the boost that I was hoping for. My natural skin appeared healthy, happy and radiant with just a couple of spritzes. I think it goes without saying, but I really like this product. It’s perfect for the summer because it’s refreshing and gives you that dewy, glowing skin (whether you’re wearing makeup or not) in seconds.
