A bold lipstick is my ride or die makeup product in the fall and winter, but dealing with flaky, chapped lips while sporting one isn’t cute. I’ve tried so many lip scrubs and balms, but nothing (and I mean nothing!) has changed my lipstick game like a lip scrubbing tool has. These rubber brushes work to slough off flaky dead skin with ease. Here’s how I like to use lip scrubbing tools in my lip-care routine.

How to Use a Lip Scrubber Tool

I keep my lips bare (dry, but with a small touch of balm) while applying my face and eye makeup, and once done, I reach for the KNC Beauty Lip Scrub Set, which includes a lip scrub and rubber lip scrubber tool. The lip-shaped tool has tiny, round rubber bristles that are super gentle on the skin and easily help remove dry skin and flakes. I press the tool up against my lips and brush over them three to four times. Afterwards, my lips feel refreshed, supple and smooth (so smooth, in fact, that I rarely need the lip scrub that came with the kit!).

One of my go-to winter red lipsticks is the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Reds of Worth Satin Lipstick in Hopeful Red. After using the lip scrubber, it effortlessly glides onto my lips without a skip or smudge. It also only takes two swipes to fully saturate my lips with long-lasting color, which is not only a testament to the lipstick itself, but to my preparation.

Final Thoughts

Dealing with chapped, flaky lips in the winter is especially difficult when you love lipstick as much as I do, but this tool has completely changed the game. The tool is efficient, easy to use and to be honest, I don’t think I can go another lipstick application without it!
