travel-friendly beauty productsWhen you’re being whisked away on a weekend getaway, you don’t want to be burdened by loads of luggage. So when an impromptu escape calls our name, we narrow our packing list down to just the essentials. Aside from the basics—toothbrush, toothpaste etc. (aka the boring stuff), all you need in your bag are these products. basic travel essentials Cleanser + Makeup Remover: A product that works double-duty will save space in your suitcase and maybe even a few extra moments to enjoy your weekend. Liquids and creams can leak, so choose a cleansing balm like Cosmetics 27 Cleanser 27 and travel worry-free. Eye Cream: Being on vacation may be an excuse to skip a few gratuitous grooming steps, but eye care is not one of them. Our favorite product for easy packing is Absolution Le Soin Regard. The pre-measured pump of anti-aging eye cream makes it a first choice for gals on the go. Dry Shampoo: There’s no need to pack the real thing when hotel rooms (and friend’s homes) come stocked with shower essentials. But if travelling tends to take some of the life out of your otherwise-stellar style, give it a refresh with spritz of L’Oréal EverStyle Texture Series Energizing Dry Shampoo. Perfume Samples: One of our favorite space-saving packing tips is to use your mini-vacation as a time to give some of your fragrance testers a try. A little Ralph Lauren Romance for Saturday, maybe a dose of Stella McCartney L.I.L.Y for Sunday…who knows, you may find your new perfume. Tinted Lip Balm: Keep daytime makeup to a minimum: add color to the lips without sacrificing sun protection with Maybelline Baby Lips. The sheer tint of the super moisturizing formula will last through hours of vacation activities. travel-friendly makeup Tinted Moisturizer (with SPF): Choose a tinted moisturizer with enough moisturizing power and skincare benefits to sub in for your usual day cream and enough imperfection-concealing coverage to replace foundation. Even when our trip takes us out of the urban setting, Urban Decay Urban Defense Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20 is a must. Concealer: Just because you’re going minimal doesn’t mean imperfections should be left uncovered. For great coverage and easy application, try a cream stick. We pack the petite and powerful Yves Saint Laurent Anti-Cernes Multi-Action Concealer. Pressed Powder: Nix shine while you wine and dine your way through the weekend with your favorite powder. Leave the loose powder at home, and pick a more portable compact like T. LeClerc Pressed Powder. Waterproof Mascara: Mascara will always be a must. We prefer waterproof because worrying about mascara running is never on the agenda. Benefit Cosmetics Badgal Waterproof Mascara and Urban Decay Cannonball Ultra Waterproof Mascara are two of our top choices. Favorite Lipstick: A bold lipstick can instantly transform your look from lazy beach day to evening on the town. Pack your favorite (ours would have to be Lancôme Rouge in Love in Berry in Love) or try a new shade (if it doesn’t work out, it will remain a vacation memory).
