3 Ways to Help Your Hair Grow

When you’re trying to grow your hair out, I think we can all agree that it never seems to happen fast enough. Between the ample number of hair-growth products lining the shelves of your favorite beauty retailers and the DIY at-home remedies that people swear by, finding a method that truly speeds up hair growth works is no easy task. Ahead, hair expert Zachary Morad shares his tried-and-true hacks to stimulate hair growth for healthy, stronger and longer hair.

Hair-Growth Tip #1: Nutrition Is Important

Good nutrition is key for promoting a healthy body, and your hair is no exception. To promote hair growth, it all comes down to eating healthy and getting your body the right nutrients. Try eating foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals to help support and accelerate cell growth. We recommend foods that are rich in fatty acids and iron like avocados and spinach.

Hair-Growth Tip #2: Topical Stimulation

Stimulation on the hair follicle is key to increase hair growth because it can help prevent your hair follicles from getting blocked by oil, debris and dead surface skin cells. You want to make sure that your scalp is regularly exfoliated. You can do this daily with a soft-bristle brush or weekly with a formulated scalp treatment, like the L'Oréal Paris Everfresh Micro-Exfoliating Scrub. We also recommend adding scalp massages into your routine as they help relax scalp muscles to prevent hair loss and promote longer hair.

Hair-Growth Tip #3: Focus on Maintenance

Oftentimes, we focus so much on the growth process that we forget to maintain the lengths and ends of our hair. Be sure to add a shampoo and conditioner that will nourish your hair and keep it healthy as you grow it out. Try a nourishing duo, like Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Shampoo and Conditioner. Another way to get healthy, long hair is to trim it regularly. Over time, your hair can become dry and brittle on the ends — be it from heat styling, color or just everyday wear-and-tear. By keeping your hair healthy with regular trims, it can prevent breakage and allow you to maintain more of your length in the long run. Can’t get to the salon? Extend the life of your haircut with the L’Oréal Paris Elvive Dream Lengths No Haircut Cream.
