With winter in full swing you can finally put away your polite nudes and orangey-browns in favor of something more deep and daring. It’s also the perfect time of year for true reds that will stand out on even the gloomiest winter mornings. And if you’re feeling inspired by the gray tones of winter? Opt for icy blues and grays for a chilled out mani that’s fresh and chic.

Our favorite wintry Essie shades, ahead:

Essie Satin Sister

This deep green-blue hue is one of our faves for winter 2018. Here’s why: It’s deep enough to feel sexy but still has enough color to stand out. It also looks great on pretty much everyone so it’s a no-brainer.

Essie Go With The Flowy

This cloud-like dove gray is perfect for anyone who looks up at a winter sky and thinks: mood. It has a slight shimmer that feels elevated but still special — definitely one of our winter favorites.

Essie Bordeaux

We can’t talk winter nails and not include Bordeaux. One of the only OG Essie shades still in existence, this one is an oldie but goodie. A deep red wine indoors and a brighter red when exposed to the sun, this is perfect for the babe who wants it all in one polish.

Essie Bahama Mama

A deep, but vibrant plum — this is a great shade for the girl who wants to go a bit darker for winter but still wants to keep it bright and fun.

Essie Sole Mate

A truer purple than its sister-shade Bahama Mama, this shade works great on deep skintones.

Essie Sew Psyched

Olive has been on everyone’s radar for the past few years, and we think it’s high time to put it on your nails. Try this sage-pewter color, a little warmer than your typical camo green but still winter apropro.

Essie Blue-tiful Horizons

This dusky blue shade with amber shifts is probably one of the gorgeous shades to date. A fan favorite from their 2018 Desert Mirage Collection, this shade is perfect for the babe who wants a little shimmer wherever she goes.

Essie Tone It Up

If you want a polish that is both good for your nails and chic, give Tone It Up from Essie’s Treat Love and Color line a try. A taupe, plum shade, this muted purple tone is the perfect shade to get you through the coldest winter nights.
