Friday means it’s time to celebrate, and Urban Decay is giving us another reason to do so.

It’s about that time of the year when we’re completely bombarded with new makeup launches, irresistible holiday gifts and consequent threats to our bank accounts. In recent days and weeks, we’ve been teased with the new Urban Decay All Nighter Concealer, the massive IT Cosmetics Friends & Family Sale and ten new shades of the Maybelline Un-Nudes Collection. And just when we thought that the end of a busy week meant that things would get a little calmer, Urban Decay announced they’re releasing a new, trippy eyeshadow palette called Distortion — and it truly lives up to its name.

The new palette contains 15 pigmented shades — nine of which are completely new for Urban Decay. The top row features five transformer shades to mix with the other shades to create unique, duotone looks. In an Instagram post, Urban Decay explains how you can layer the top-row shadows from the Distortion palette over the other shades to transform them into multidimensional hues — as seen below.

A few of our favorite shades in the palette that are perfect for the holiday season include a metallic burgundy shade with gold micro-sparkle called Velvet, a deep metallic bronze called Territorial and the pink shift shade named Blur. If you’re a fan of both matte shadows and trendy metallics, this palette has a mix of both to create a variety of different looks.

The palette costs $48 and it launches exclusively in Sephora on December 4 and on the Urban Decay site on December 26. While we wait for the official launch, you can find us staring at the palette’s multidimensional packaging until our lives are distorted in the best possible way.
