As beauty editors, we have an unconditional love for makeup. We pride ourselves in our extensive collection of volumizing mascaras and lipsticks (you can never have too many options), and we genuinely look forward to applying our makeup every morning. But as we’re all social distancing and our homes have become our new offices, we’ve been clinging to our bright red lipsticks and sparkling highlighters now more than ever before as a form of self-care. And we’ll be honest, most days we simply roll out of bed and go about the day without touching our face, but on the days we do decide to put in the extra effort, there’s no denying that it instantly makes us feel better. Here, check out our self-isolation makeup routines and feel free to copy them.

I love a light, fresh-faced makeup look a. While social distancing, though, I’ve truly embraced that no-makeup makeup look by skipping out on foundation altogether and using the Maybelline New York Super Stay Concealer to cover up any blemishes and lightly even out my skin tone. I follow it up by applying the Physicians Formula Spotlight Illuminating Primer on the highpoints of my face, which is a little untraditional, but I swear it offers a really soft, lit-from-within glow. To add some color and dimension to my face, I apply the Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick on my cheeks and eyelids. It’s an easy-to-blend, creamy formula that melts beautifully into my skin while adding a subtle, dewy finish. I finish off the look with my all-time favorite IT Cosmetics Lash Blow Out Mascara, and I instantly feel like a confident human who’s ready to take on the day.

If I’m being completely candid, my quarantine makeup routine is pretty much non-existent. And TBH, no complaints here. Instead of doing a full-face of foundation, I’ve been opting for the Vichy Capital Soleil Tinted 100% Mineral Sunscreen. It evens out my complexion and covers redness without any of the heaviness that comes with foundation. Then, I’ll reach for my ride-or-die Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind Eraser to cover up my dark circles. As a final step, I use the Saie Beauty Super Glowy Gel on my cheekbones and on my eyelids. I still have my pre-social distancing makeup glow sans the time-consuming routine.

During this time, I’m proud to say that I’ve definitely held back on my makeup routine. Usually, you’ll never catch me without a cat eye or matte liquid lip, but these past few weeks I’ve been keeping it really minimal. I start my routine the same way as usual — with the Urban Decay All Nighter Primer and the IT Cosmetics Oil-Free Matte CC Cream. Instead of applying thick liner on my eyes, though, I actually use a touch of my blush (the Tower 28 BeachPlease Luminous Tinted Balm in Magic Hour) all over my lids and then on the apples of my cheeks. For mascara, I’ve been using the Ilia Beauty Limitless Lash Mascara religiously, and I add a sweep of the Urban Decay Stay Naked Threesome in Rise for bronzer. I’ve been wrapping up my whole look with the Maybelline New York Masterchrome Jelly Highlighter in Metallic Rose for some sparkle and a swipe of the Kosas Wet Lip Oil in Jellyfish to finish. Believe it or not, that’s minimal for me, and I’m loving it.

When I first started self-quarantining, I didn’t apply a lick of makeup on my face — like for weeks. But now that I’m settling into this new reality, I’ve found that applying a little bit of makeup is a great mood-booster. I start with the Troiareuke Cushion Compact, a barely-there K-beauty foundation that contains soothing skin-care ingredients like centella asiatica — it’s been great for covering up and addressing my stress acne. I then neutralize my dark circles (these have been pretty dark lately) with the Erborian Touch Pen Complexion Sculptor and Concealer. Next, I swipe the Maybelline New York Brow Fast Sculpt through my brows (seriously, there’s nothing like a defined brow to make yourself look instantly put together). If I have a video meeting or virtual happy hour on the calendar for the day, I’ll finish up with a few coats of the L’Oréal Paris Bambi Eye Mascara. It makes my eyes look bigger and more awake.

Normally I have a very dedicated routine, but since I’ve been at home, I’ve made it a point to cut back. The only time I really ever put on makeup anymore is for a super important Zoom meeting. When that happens, I tend to go minimal and apply the Erborian CC Red Correct to even out my skin tone, but I skip foundation all together. I’ll then touch up my brows lightly with the IT Cosmetics Brow Powerful Eyebrow Pencil to give them shape and definition without going overboard. Then, I’ll go in with a lengthening mascara like the Maybelline New York The Falsies Lash Lift Washable Mascara to brighten and open up my eyes. If I feel like going above and beyond, I’ll toss on a super subtle lip color to tie my look together. I’ve been obsessed with INN Beauty Project Glaze #1 Lip Oil –– it’s super hydrating and adds a touch of cherry red to your lips.
