CVS Wants to Give You Access to New Drugstore Makeup Before Everyone Else

We’d be lying if we said loyalty programs didn’t have a major impact on our beauty splurges. We’re frequently lured into Ulta or Sephora, be it for a free beauty class, to pick up our annual birthday gift, to redeem our rewards points for makeup or to just browse the aisles and leave with an arm full of eyeshadow swatches. If you thought you already had one too many beauty stores to be faithful to, a new drugstore is joining in on the fun. We just got word from our friends at Glamour  that starting this July, CVS will start offering similar incentives for its CVS ExtraCare Beauty Club Members, including free makeup and access to new beauty launches before everyone else. The best part? It’s free.

So what does this mean for you and your always-growing beauty collection? According to Glamour, there will be a new system for how ExtraBucks are calculated. “For every $30 you spend on beauty, you will get $3 ExtraBucks rewards back,” explains Glamour writer Rachel Nussbaum. “If you weren't paying close attention to how the system worked before, you used to get $5 for every $50 spent, so the brand says you'll now reach rewards nearly twice as fast.” This equals more makeup.
