If you consider yourself a member of the NYX Professional Makeup Community (qualifications: loving all things beauty and supporting your fellow makeup lovers) you’ve probably heard of the annual FACE Awards. It’s a competition where up-and-coming makeup artists create makeup tutorials based on challenges posed by NYX (i.e. to create a look “reflecting the power of makeup” or “icons”). This year’s competition started back in April with thousands of entries and was narrowed down to just six finalists. These talented individuals were flown to L.A. to work with producers to bring their final video challenge to life — the theme being “no filter.”

The Face Awards took place over the weekend in Los Angeles. With the help of live voters and the enthusiasm of this year’s host, Patrick Starr, viewers (IRL and live stream) got to learn more about all six finalists, see their final videos and vote for their favorites. This year’s Makeup Artist of the Year title was presented to (drumroll please) Rachel Masky, also known as “The Pinup Companion” on social media. Rachel accepted the award, in addition to $50,000, $1,000 worth of NYX Professional Makeup and the opportunity to star in an upcoming product campaign. In short, you can expect to see a lot of Rachel in your near future.

And if you’re looking to watch the NYX Face Awards in its entirely, check out the brand’s archived live stream, below.
