From blow drying and styling to overwashing and bleaching, we put our hair through a lot (like a lot, a lot). That’s why it’s a good idea to give it some TLC every once and while.Whether your hair is dry and brittle or you’re searching for a much-needed hair color boost, there’s a hair mask on Amazon that can lend a helping hand. To find out which hair masks don’t mess around, we asked the Makeup.com editors to share some of their faves. See what they are, ahead.
I’m a fake blonde — it’s true.. My dark brown hair has been bleached and dyed every four months, like clockwork, for the past five years. Perhaps unsurprisingly, my hair is showing the effects. It can get super dry, especially right after getting colored. To help keep my strands hydrated, I’ve been using the Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Color Creme Color Reviver. It helps my hair feel and look softer and silkier after just one treatment.
Since my hair is usually colored or toned (and pretty long!), I’m always super careful when it comes to the products I’m using. NouNou is one of my favorite masks because it not only detangles my strands, it also protects my color all year round, whether it’s on the redder or brond-er side. I also love the way it smells and how soft my hair feels and looks after a wash — I won’t go more than a few days without it!
Between my extensive skin-care routine and everyday makeup look, my beauty routine doesn’t leave a lot of extra room for hair care. That’s why I like to search for products that can give me beautiful results in little time, like this one from Garnier that contains aloe extract. I apply it all over my damp hair after I shampoo and let it sit for about one minute. After I rinse it out, my dry, brittle strands immediately feelsoft, smooth and hydrated without being too weighed down.
I’ve dealt with dry hair literally my entire life, and it wasn’t until I was introduced to hair masks that I actually saw a light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve tried a lot of different ones, but didn’t really find a fit until I stumbled upon Kérastase Nutritive Masque Magistral Hair Mask. This mask targets everything from scalp health to heat protection, so I feel like it knocks out a bunch of steps in my hair care routine that I normally skip over. It’s worth firing up the Prime account for.
Last summer, I accidentally went blonde. It’s a long story, but let’s just say the color was more orange than golden or buttery. In between toning appointments to correct the color, I relied on this toning mask to keep my hair from getting too straw-like, both in shade and texture.
