This 4-Step Blue Eyeshadow Tutorial Is Perfect for the Holiday SZN
November 12, 2020-
Step 1:
Wing It Out
To start, Brit grabbed a very thin, eyeliner brush and the NYX Professional Makeup Diamonds & Ice, Please 6-Pan Shadow Palette in Sky Gems. “I dipped into shade number five, a dark blue, and created a winged liner shape,” she says. “It doesn’t have to be precise at all because you’re going to smoke it out in the next step.”
-
Step 2:
Apply Some Shimmer
Once the eyeliner is complete, it’s time to brighten up the look with a frostier, lighter blue shade, like shade number four in the NYX palette. “I used a flat brush to really dig into the pan and applied the shade all over my lid,” says Brit. “It’s so pretty, really pigmented and looks wet, so you won’t need too much product.” Then, using a buffing brush, blend the liner with the shadow for a fluid look.
For a more intense color payoff, use your fingers or wet your brush prior to application.

Step 3:
Focus on the Lower Eye
To create dimension, Brit suggests dragging the dark blue used in the first step across the lower lash line. “Use the same eyeliner brush and connect the lower lash line to the upper liner and create a tapered shape,” she says. “I did not blend the lower line to keep it crisp and pretty.”
For an added pop, use a bright blue eyeliner in the waterline. Brit used the L.A. Girl Shockwave Neon Liner in Fresh. We also love the Urban Decay Wired 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Vivid. -
Step 4:
Add Final Touches
No holiday makeup look is complete without some sparkle, so grab some blue gems (like these from Amazon) and add them all over your lid. Finish off with some fake lashes, mascara and a nude lip.
