We can’t be the only ones who got excited over the “Guinness Book of World Records” back when we were in school. The book was full of the most obscure records around — like the longest fingernails, accompanied by a picture that will forever scar us in a way nothing else can. But flash forward to present day and one of our favorite luxe beauty brands, Lancôme, just won a Guinness World Record of their own. The record title is “The Most People Matched With Foundation in 8 Hours,” and it happened right smack in the Big Apple.

To beat the world record, 10 Lancôme makeup artists needed to match 1,200 participants with their perfect shade of Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear foundation. The shade matching event took place from 8:30am-4:30pm at the New York Highline in Hudson Yards, and during that span of eight hours Lancôme artists successfully matched 1,327 participants, beating the former world record by 127 matches. Whether you agree or not, we can confidently say this is one small step for the world and one giant leap for beauty.
