The Mesmerizing Duochrome Eye Makeup Look You Need to Try This Holiday Season

You’re not alone, That’s why we’re challenging ourselves to step out of the box this season with a duo-chrome eye makeup look that feels more elevated than kitch. Ahead, makeup artist and influencer Aniyah Smith breaks down how to get the shimmering, sophisticated look in just four easy steps.

STEP 1:

Create Your Base

Using the Urban Decay NAKED Wild West Palette, Smith created a base all over the lid with the shade Nudie. She recommends using a big fluffy brush to ensure that you’re covering the entire lid area.
STEP 2:

Add Depth

Next, she used a pointed eyeshadow brush with the shades Ghost Town and Pony Up to add some dimension into the crease. It’s important to drag the brush up in an oval motion (tracing along the crease line) to get a defined finish. Don’t blend out the colors — this will help avoid muddying the look.

STEP 3:

Add Your Duochrome

Time to add some shimmering duochrome! Using the L’Oréal Paris Brilliant Eyes Shimmer Liquid Eye Shadow in Radiant Ruby, create a cut crease by filling in the entire lid with the shimmery copper pigment. This will serve as a stunning contrast to the dark crease you just created and will catch the light beautifully.
STEP 4:

Add a Gold Flash

To take the look one step further, add the Brilliant Eyes Shimmer Liquid Eye Shadow in Crown Gold to the center of each eyelid for another flash of duochromatic color. Complete the look with liner and mascara.
