From negative space designs to the anti-mascara trend, we are in an era of bold, experimental eye makeup. If you’re ready to amp up your makeup style, neon eyeliner is a great place to start. Here, we’re detailing how to create a simple neon graphic eyeliner look. It’s easy, vibrant and perfect for drawing attention to any eye color.

STEP 1: Prep Your Lids

To ensure your vibrant liner won’t crease on your lids or smudge after hours of wear, a primer, like the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, should be the first thing you reach for. This cult-favorite primer is a bit tackier and stickier than a face primer so that it can hold your liner in place. To apply, use the applicator to swipe the formula across your lids and let it dry down for a minute or two.

STEP 2: Line and Trace

Before adding neon color, map out the shape of your graphic liner with a white eyeliner, like the NYX Professional Makeup Epic Wear Liquid Eyeliner in White. This makes the whole process a lot easier because you won’t have to go freehand with the neon liner. Plus, the white liner will make the vibrant shade you choose really pop. Next, trace over your line with a neon liner, like the SUVA Beauty Hydra Liner or the Maybelline New York TattooStudio Neon Sharpenable Longwear Gel Eyeliner

STEP 3: Make Sure to Set

The final step in completing and maintaining your look is to spritz on a makeup setting spray, like the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. This will keep creasing at bay and ensure that the neon shade looks vibrant all day long.
