First, we fell in love with popsicle lips, a Korean beauty trend that featured a bright pink or red gradient focused on the center of the lips. Then, popsicle eyes were a spinoff of the soft-bitten look that had us head over heels, and now we’re swooning over lollipop eyes, which is a fun, bright eyeshadow look that’s perfect for spring. It features beautiful rich purple hues and can be done in six easy steps. Keep reading for a step-by-step tutorial from makeup artist and influencer Britney Delgado.
  • STEP 1:

    Apply a Dark Purple Shade

After priming your lid, apply a plum shadow like shade 14 from the NYX Professional Makeup Ultimate Utopia Shadow Palette on the outer and inner corners of the eye using a small, dense eyeshadow brush.

  • STEP 2:

    Blend It Out

Then, grab a clean fluffy eyeshadow brush and apply a pastel purple hue, like shade 7 from the same palette, on top of plum  to add definition. Delgado notes that adding the pastel shade on top of the plum hue may wash out the color, which is why she recommends going back and forth between the two shades until you get a purple hue that’s to your liking. Blend out the edges until there are no harsh lines and everything looks soft and diffused.

  • STEP 3:

    Do the Center Lid

Using your finger, tap a light tan shadow, like shade 1, on the center of your eyelid to create a spotlight effect.

  • STEP 4:

    Finish Your Lower Lash Line

Apply the plum shadow on the lower lash line and blend it out with the lighter purple shade to make the eyes look more balanced and cohesive. Then apply a white eyeliner (try the NYX Professional Makeup Retractable Eyeliner in White) on the waterline to make the eyes look bright and doe-eyed.

  • STEP 5:

    Add an Inner Wing

Delgado says this step is optional, but if you want to make the look a little more sultry, create a small inner corner wing using an angled brush. She used the shade 40 from the Utopia palette for this, which is a shimmery dark purple.

  • STEP 6:

    Lashes

Finally, finish off the look with a fluffy pair of falsies or your favorite mascara. Our current favorite is the Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara because it dramatically lengthens lashes.
