6 Festive Holiday Nail Ideas to Upgrade Your Acrylics for the SeasonDecember 17, 2018
The holidays are well underway, so it’s no surprise that there are fire nail looks to match. From an icy red mani inspired by snow to a gold flake manicure that works on any nail length — there’s an endless amount of nail looks to keep you (and us) inspired. With that in mind we’ve rounded up our favorite holiday nail looks on the ‘gram, prepare to screenshot, save and repeat.
A Blingy Winter Mani
Nail designer Vanessa Colon (known on the ‘gram as @vanessa_nailz) takes Christmas nails look to the next level in the look ahead, creating various ice-themed scenes on long, coffin-shaped acrylic nails. No two nails are exactly the same, and she uses an icy cuticle look to tie the fun accent nails together.
A Winter Mood
Nail technician Kori Peterman plays with texture, shape and patterns in the mani ahead, calling on iconic holiday motifs like plaid, snowflake and of course — glitter. This mani sticks to a vampier color palette, making it the perfect option for anyone who likes to rock deeper colors all year round.
Subtle, Yet Fancy
This mani by Mindy Tran is the perfect for the transition from winter to fall. She does a different design on each nail, including a red glitter design that feels extra festive and a “ribbed” taupe pink that reminds us sweater season isn’t over just yet.
An Icy Mani
We like this nail look because it reminds us of icicles, and is the kind of showstopping neutral you fawn over on the ‘gram. Manicurist Nathalie Cohen uses just one coat of Caption Nail Polish in the shade No Batteries Included to create an elevated metallized nude.
How the Grinch Stole This Fire Mani
With a live action, animated, and re-animated iteration of this childhood classic, it’s not surprising that there’s a mani inspired by the film too. Cue this nail look by Hannah Cammack, who uses green glitter to accentuate the Grinch looking particularly, well, Grinch-ish.
Oh So Classic
Dark red nails are as classic as they come in the world of holiday nails, and after all these years they’re still so, so good. We’re infatuated with this set by Sanna Reza — a Stockholm based nail tech — featuring long coffin-shaped acrylics and a high-shine vampy red.
