7 Nail Designs Inspired By Very Peri, Pantone's 2022 Color of the Year

It’s that time of year again, when Pantone has announced its color of the year for 2022 and it has already inspired us in the beauty department. The shade, Very Peri (Pantone 17-3938), is described by the company as “a dynamic periwinkle blue hue with a vivifying violet red undertone.” It also represents newness, gratitude and vision — things we will be welcoming in 2022.

As we revamp our beauty routines for the upcoming year, we’re looking forward to incorporating the color (and all the good juju along with it) into our manicures. Grab your favorite periwinkle polish (try Essie You Do Blue) and keep reading to get inspired by nail art looks featuring the hue.

Graphic Design

Graphic lines and color blocking are an on-trend way to give the blue-ish violet shade a modern feel.

Dreamy Nails

Add clouds and stars to a periwinkle French manicure. Evey time you look at your nails you’ll be on cloud 9!

Evil Eye

If you don’t want a periwinkle shade to overpower your whole manicure, we suggest trying a negative space design like this. Use the shade to fill in the small details, like the pupil of an evil eye.

V-Shape French Tip

The V-shaped French tip gets a psychedelic twist with iridescent details. Try these nail stickers to get the look.

Swirls

There probably wasn’t a nail art design more popular in 2021 than the swirl look. Give the design a 2022 upgrade by using periwinkle and other shades blue to really make it pop.

Marble Mani

Use a toothpick to swirl together shades of purple, blue and metallic glitters for an entrancing marble effect.
