ICYMI, beauty trends from the ’70s — like retro nail art and shag haircuts — are back! We don’t know about you, but we can’t get enough. While there’s no shortage of ways to incorporate the decade’s aesthetic into your post-vaccine beauty routine, in our opinion, nothing beats a classic ’70s green eye look like the one seen here. For tips on how to create it, we tapped NYC-based makeup artist Sadhvi Babu. Read on to learn how to try it for yourself in six easy steps.

STEP 1:
Start with Liner
Create an arched line above the crease from the inner and outer corners with a green eyeliner (like the Urban Decay Cosmetics 24/7 Glide-On Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil). Finish with a winged shape at the outer corner.
-
STEP 2:
Swipe on Shadow
Apply a green shadow like the Urban Decay 24/7 Shadow Stick in Mildew all over the eyelid and up to the crease, staying inside of the stenciled shape.

STEP 3:
Shape It
Once the pigment is applied, it’s time to shape your look. Babu used a cotton swab dipped in micellar water to ensure a smooth, rounded edge

STEP 4:
Make It Two-Toned
Amp up the look by adding a gold highlighter like the NYX Professional Makeup High Glass Illuminating Powder to the inner half of the eyelid. “I used a clean eyeshadow blending brush to blend and soften the gold halfway across the look,” Babu says.
