I Created a Makeup Look Inspired by Lily Collins in Emily In Paris — Here’s How to Copy It With Lancôme Products
October 28, 2020Emily in Paris, starring Lily Collins, is one of the most binge-worthy television shows of the moment. Not only does it take viewers on a dreamy virtual vacation to Paris, but it’s also full of drama, humor and romance. Yet another reason I couldn’t stop streaming the Netflix show? The beauty looks. I’ve barely applied mascara, let alone a full face of makeup, since social distancing rules went into effect back in March, but there was something about Emily’s classic yet playful makeup style that inspired me to dust off my stash.
I decided to create a look inspired by one of my favorite beauty moments from the show — the one with the striking red lip that Emily wore to the ballet at the Palais Garnier Opera House (this one here). Because Collins is a Lancôme ambassador, I challenged myself to achieve the look using products from the brand. Read on for the full tutorial.

STEP 1
Brows
I think many would agree that Collins has the best brows on television, so my goal was to make mine look as full as possible. I filled and shaped them with the Lancôme Brôw Define Pencil, which I love because the thin crayon tip allows for precision and a defined yet natural-looking finish. I then brushed my brow hairs up with the Sourcils Styler in Transparent. This also made my brows look thicker.

STEP 2
The Smoky Eye
Instead of a black or brown smoky eye, I stuck to a pink-tinged palette à la Emily. Using the Hypnôse 5-Color Eyeshadow Palette in Rose Fusion, I applied a mixture of the dark pink and brown shades along my crease and in the outer corner of each eye to create a wing effect. I then filled in the lid with a mixture of the matte and shimmery light pink shades. Finally, I went in with the champagne shade in my inner corner and along my brow bone to highlight. To finish the eye look, I used the Artliner Precision Felt-Tip Liquid Eyeliner along my upper lash line and to create a flick at the outer corner, and two coats of Monsieur Big Volumizing Mascara on my lashes.

STEP 3:
The Face
I wanted a full-coverage, airbrushed look, so I applied the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H Long Wear Foundation with a damp beauty sponge. I then swiped Blush Subtil in Rose Fresque on my cheeks for a rosy flush and Le Monochromatique in Magique on the tops of my cheekbones for a glow boost.

STEP 4:
The Red Lip
The key aspect of this look is the bright red lip. To achieve it, I used the Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Ruby Cream Lipstick in Bad Blood Ruby, which Collins revealed on Lancôme’s Instagram account to be the exact lippie she wore in the show.
