Lupita Nyongo’s Red Carpet Look Just Made Everyone Stop and Do a Triple Take

If you screamed when you saw Lupita Nyong’o last night, know you weren’t alone. The Lancôme ambassadress debuted a white feather Oscar de la Renta one-shoulder gown, paired with a flirty, glowy makeup look. The look, brought to life by celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose, featured a flawless complexion, a mesmerizing highlight that could be seen from afar and a berry lip that looked like it was made specifically for Nyong’o.

“For the Academy Awards, Lupita’s white feathery dress called for a feminine and flirty look,” explains Barose. “I did so by playing up the look with pearlized eyes, flirty lashes and matte raspberry-tone lips. The key was mixing metallic pearl-toned eyeshadows and placing lashes on the outer corners to make the look party-ready.”

STEP 1: Prep skin with the Lancôme Absolue Revitalizing & Brightening Soft Cream on your face and neck, massaging into the skin. Let it absorb, and then blot your T-zone. Follow with Advanced Génifique Eye Light Pearl and massage under the eye area.

STEP 2: Apply Prep & Matte Primer on the T-zone and then use the Juno & Co Microfiber Velvet Sponge to blend Teint Idole Ultra 24H Long Wear Foundation on your face, and fade out toward the jawline. Follow up with Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Concealer under your eyes.

STEP 3:Dab Long Time No Shine Loose Setting Powder, focusing on the T-zone and leave perimeter of the face sheer to bring out the glow. Add Le Monochromatique in Haute Couture onto the apples of the cheeks and then dab Teint Idole Ultra Custom Highlighting Drops on top of your cheekbones using the Juno & Co Microfiber Velvet Sponge.

STEP 4:Use the Starlight Sparkle Eyeshadow Palette and Color Design Starlight Sparkle Eyeshadow Palette with a damp brush. Apply various shades of silvery pewter, using the lighter silver tone on the lids and the darker tones on outer corners, to then blend up to the brow bones. For extra drama, wet a liner brush and dab the lighter silver shade in inner corners.

STEP 5:Line upper lash lines with Drama Liqui-Pencil in Noir Intense to create a base shape for the eyes and then apply two coats of Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara in Black. For extra volume, add three to four individual Lashify Lashes on the outer corners of your eyes and then add more mascara at the roots.

STEP 6: Prep lips with Absolue Precious Cells Nourishing Lip Balm. Let it sit and absorb, then blot off excess. Apply L’Absolu Rouge Drama Matte in 417 Berry Intense directly from the tube for more intensity and pigment. Clean and define around the edges of the lip with a lip brush. Apply Le Lip Liner in Sheer Chocolate around the edges to define and polish it up.
