New York Fashion Week may be over, but we’ll be thinking about the beauty moments from the Spring 2024 runways for the next few months. Fashion week — or fashion month if you’re a fellow lover of London, Paris and Milan Fashion Week — is all about the newest styles and trends to set the tone for the next season.

This season, our editors at Makeup.com went backstage to see all the blossoming makeup, skin and hair trends you’ll want to recreate. From ballerina-core hair and nails to golden lids and cheeks, keep scrolling for the beauty moments from NYFW you’ll be seeing on social media all through 2024.

Ballerina Nails at Christian Siriano

Soft pink nails were the vibe for the Christian Siriano SS24 show with fingers painted by lead nail artist, @julieknailsnyc. Reminiscent of the silk ribbons in a ballerina’s hair, this nail look was created using Essie nail polish. Recreate this look anytime you need a subtle nail look or want a flirty manicure. Use Essie Gel Couture in Poised and Polished for a pale pink base with a touch of sheer glitter on top courtesy of Essie Birthday Girl.

Combed Back Hair at Bach Mai

If you love the slicked-back looks of the summer, you’ll appreciate a looser, more voluminous version seen at the Bach Mai show, created by hairstylist Xtine (@hairstudy). This look brings back the thin-teeth headbands of our childhoods to push back the fronts of hair and help put your face on full display. Backstage, the hairstylist used products from Aunt Jackie's Curls & Coils to create this soft look. To recreate, you can utilize a hair oil or serum like the Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti-Frizz Serum to minimize frizz for a soft, flyaway-free look.

Tropical Dew at Bronx and Banco

Natural makeup is always a trending look no matter the time of year, and it got a tropical revamp at the Bronx and Banco show this season. Dewy skin was brought to life with skincare brand Sajic Skin for a glowy skin base, while makeup artists from New York Makeup Academy added warm-tone colors to the cheeks and eyelids for a lush look.

Before the runway, models were given a sun-kissed glow using Physicians Formula. Try your hand at this look for a summer flush any time of year using the Valentino Beauty Eye2Cheek Blush and Eyeshadow for a wash of shimmery color on eyes and cheeks for a monochromatic moment.

Glossy Lids at Prabal Gurung

A bare face with a golden eye was the makeup highlight of the Prabal Gurung SS24 fashion show. Lead makeup artist @romerojennings painted a cool-tone mustard color on the eyelids with a glossy top coat that put the emphasis on the eyes. The best part of this trending moment is that you can switch up the base color to whatever suits your style. Swipe on your eyelids one of the 10 neutral or bold shades available from the Maybelline New York Color Tattoo Eye Stix Up to 24 Hour Wear collection and top it off with glossy eye paint.

Bejeweled Everything at The Blonds

Between the stunning neutral and glowy beauty moments, there’s the thrill of a full glam look like the ones seen on the runway (and behind the scenes) at The Blonds fashion week show. Black nails were adorned with rhinestones by nail artist @byjuanalvear while the hair was left long and sleek with equally bedazzled headpieces. Pulling the look together was a jewel-toned eyeshadow created by @baltasaroficial using shimmery metallics.

Don’t be afraid to shine with all these jewels and keep hair sleek using the Carol’s Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey, which is formulated with shea butter, cocoa butter, lavender, rosemary and other nourishing ingredients. Allow your makeup to shine just as bright with a generous dusting of the Valentino Beauty Dreamdust Glitter Eyeshadow, available in silver, gold, emerald and blue pigment.

Micro French Tip at Kate Spade

The classic French tip gets a mini update at the Kate Spade SS24 show with a micro French tip created by @julieknailsnyc using Essie nail polish. Keep the base of your nails shiny and neutral with one of the many natural shades available from Essie, like the Gel Couture in Fairy Tailor or Of Corset for a sheer finish. For the French tip portion, draw a thin line at the tip of your natural nail using Essie Expressive Now or Never.

Fresh Skin at Gabriela Hearst

A forever trend will always be a natural look that focuses on your beautiful skin in its healthiest form. You won’t need to go to the spa and spend hundreds of dollars on a facial with the skincare goodies from Tata Harper Skincare that were used to prep the model’s skin at the Gabriela Hearst SS24 show. Mini facials were given backstage to bring out the skin’s natural glow. Featured products included the cleanser, mask and serum from the Regenerating collection by Tata Harper.

Romantic Makeup at Mirror Palais

Flashback to Versaille with a renaissance-like makeup look inspired by the makeup at the Mirror Palais SS24 show. Makeup artist Miguel Ramos (@mmiiggss) created a matte neutral eye and burnt rose lip using about-face beauty for a sultry-meets-Victorian makeup moment. This look embraces the revenge makeup trend of TikTok with an overlined lip.

Don’t forget to shine a light on your face by adding a layer of glow using the L’Oréal Paris True Lumi Match Glotion Natural Glow Enhancer before applying any foundation or concealer. The glow enhancer stays true to its name by rounding out a romantic look with added illumination.
