New York Fashion Week gives us a glimpse into upcoming trends for all things beauty (and, of course, fashion) — and this season did not disappoint in the makeup, hair and nail categories. From siren eye sightings to ’90s lips to bejeweled nails, we’re rounding up the very best beauty trends we spotted on and off stage, and we recommend you take note for the 2023 season to come. You might even want to give ‘em a try now.

Hot Pink Everything

Pink, well, everything will be sticking around in the upcoming new year. The proof? The light pink lips at LoveShackFancy SS23 and hot neon pink eyeshadow at Alice + Olivia SS23. You can get a similar look using the NYX Professional Makeup SFX Face and Body Paint in Dreamweaver on the lids and the This is Juice Gloss in Strawberry Flex on the lips.

Braided Ponies

If this season’s shows are any indication, taking your typical braid styles to the next level is a guarantee for spring 2023. Case in point: the sculptural braids at Kim Shui SS23, braided ponies at Proenza Schouler SS23 and meter-length plaits at Collina Strada SS23. Get inspired by the look with easy-to-create baby braids, or go all out with extra-long braids and extensions. The Redken Dry Texture Spray is a must-have for either look.

Bejeweled Nails

Good news: Rhinestone accent nails aren’t going anywhere, and we are thrilled. In fact, we can’t stop staring at this bedazzled look from Rebecca Minkoff SS23. To get a similar vibe, start with a pearly-chrome base color like Essie Chiffon on the Move and overlay tiny diamond gemstones to nail the trend (pun intended).

’90s Lips

Brownie-nude lips is the ’90s look that beauty lovers can’t get enough of, and thanks to this wearable version at Sandy Liang SS23, it’s here to stay. Artist Carolina Dali created a velvety matte lip and a fresh face that’s officially going to be our go-to everyday makeup look come spring. To replicate the look, try the NYX Professional Makeup Smooth Whip Blurring Matte Lip Cream in Teddy Fluff.

Siren Eyes

Elongating the upper lash line with a straight stroke toward the outer corner is the key to achieving the siren eye look. Artist Charlie Riddle did just this at Pat Bo SS23 with the Stila Stay All Day ArtiStix Graphic Liner. Insider tip: He smoked the line out to create a sultry, sparkly look.

Hair Baubles

Hair jewelry, baubles, clips and more were touted at Susan Alexandra SS23, and we expect no less come spring 2023 from the hair-trend accounts we follow on social media. To ensure your hair holds these ornaments and its shape, we always opt for a strong-hold hairspray like the L’Oréal Paris Elnett Extra Strong Satin Hairspray.

Matte Nails

Matte is back! Nail artist Mo Quin created a sleek, matte nail look with Essie for the Proenza Schouler SS23 show with the Essie Gel Couture Matte Topcoat. For the pedicure look, she opted for a classic crimson shade, Essie Wicked.
