We don’t know about you, but last night, our eyes were all over social media (and our TV screens, of course). We anxiously awaited for the red carpet arrival of each and every one of our favorite celebrities to see what makeup, hair and nail looks they paired with their statement-making dresses. There were fire monochromatic makeup looks, colorful, blown-out eyeshadow straight out of an editorial and a ton of perfectly nude manicures featuring a touch of glam — see Constance Wu, Sandra Oh, Emma Stone and Lili Reinhart for proof. The trend goes to show that you can’t go wrong with pairing a killer gown (or any outfit, really) with a neutral mani.

One look we were particularly mesmerized by was actress Lili Reinhart — from her bold red tulle gown to her red monochromatic eyeshadow to her minimalist (yet stunning mani). See below for more breathtaking evidence.

“For tonight’s red carpet, Lili chose Essie’s new Gel Couture polish buttoned & buffed, a beige-toned nude, adding to the romantic feel of her red tulle gown by Khyeli Couture. We enhanced her nail look by adding a single Swarovski stone at the base of each nail bed, playing off her sparkling diamond earrings. The finished look was a perfect neutral nail with a hint of glam!” said Celebrity Manicurist, Steph Stone.

So if you’re looking to DIY at home, the good news is that you can recreate it in just minutes. We recommend prepping your nails with Essie First Base Base Coat and then apply two coats of Essie Gel Couture in buttoned & buffed. Give your nails a shiny finish with Essie Speed Setter Top Coat. Once your nails are completely dry, apply a drop of nail glue and then place a rhinestone adhesive at the base of your nail using a tweezer. Consider using a detail brush to add a little more top coat around the adhesive to ensure it stays put. Finally, finish by snapping a photo for the ‘gram — and don’t forget to tag @lilireinhart.
