I’m a firm believer that pigmented lipstick can transform your entire look. When I’m heading out for dinner or drinks after work, swapping out my daytime nude for a bold, dark lipstick is my go-to move. That’s why every time a new pigmented lippie hits my desk, I get excited by the new possibilities. A recent example is the NYX Professional Makeup Shout Loud Satin Lipstick

Shout Loud stands apart from other heavily opaque formulas because you don’t have to sacrifice comfort for color. Formulated with mango seed and shea butter, the consistency of this lipstick is silky, rich and velvety, and it promises intense, hydrating wear. Shout Loud also comes in a rainbow of 24 shades, including  pinky-nudes, deep purples, burnt oranges and even a teal (aptly named Exclusive).

I immediately gravitated towards Grind, a cool chocolate. As I opened the bullet, I could  tell that the lipstick would be easy to apply — it looked super smooth, perfectly molded and almost buoyant to the touch. When I applied it onto my lips, the color glided on with ease and precision. Although I’d prepped my lips before application, it felt more hydrating than your typical pigmented lipstick, as if I was applying another layer of hydration as opposed to lip color.

I also really dig the color payoff of Grind. With just one or two swipes it was completely opaque and as bold as its Shout Loud name implies.  Plus, I only had to reapply once throughout the first evening I wore it (which is pretty impressive for a pigmented lipstick).

Final Thoughts

With such a vast color range, you’ll be able to find a Should Loud shade that matches your makeup personality (maximalist or not!), and with the impressive color-payoff and comfortable feel, it’ll become a staple in your routine. I know it’s become one in mine.
