I have a confession to make: I haven’t worn foundation in over a month. Shocking. I know, but can you blame me? While in self-quarantine, I’ve made the conscious decision to forgo my full-blown glam makeup beat and give my skin a little TLC. Because I still have to look put together for the occasional video conference call or FaceTime sesh, my skin does require some kind of complexion corrector, however. That’s why when I got my hands on the Vichy Capital Soleil Tinted 100% Mineral Sunscreen I couldn’t wait to give it a try. The tinted SPF 60 formula is enough to make me feel A-OK sans foundation. Read about my full experience, ahead.

Vichy Capital Soleil Tinted 100% Mineral Sunscreen

My Review of the Vichy Capital Soleil Tinted 100% Mineral Sunscreen

I wake up, put on my daytime pajamas (don’t judge, you do it too) and head to the bathroom for my morning skin-care routine. After cleansing, putting on a multitude of serums and applying my moisturizer, I reached for my shiny new sunscreen. I gave it a little shake, unscrewed the top and put a quarter-sized amount into my hand. There’s no scentl, which is a major plus in my book. At first glance, the formula looked orange in color so I worried it would be too dark for my fair complexion. Thankfully I couldn’t have been more wrong. Once I started blending, the formula melted into my skin and adjusted to my skin tone. I have a lot of red splotches on my complexion and hyperpigmentation on my cheeks and I’m happy to report that this totally evened out my skin’s appearance. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a foundation or a BB cream and won’t really cover a breakout — you’ll need to add concealer — but it does provide just enough of a tint to smooth away imperfections and give the skin a sheer, subtle glow. It felt weightless upon application and didn’t make my skin-care pill up or irritate my sensitive skin. So far, so good.

While I was more than pleased with how the tinted formula looked on my skin, I still needed to see how the sunscreen held up throughout the day before deciding to permanently add it to my stash. I have crazy sensitive and burn-prone skin, so the fact that the formula is SPF 60, paraben-free and allergy-tested is amazing. Plus, it’s packed with Vichy’s proprietary Mineralizing Thermal Water to strengthen my skin’s barrier and fight against environmental aggressors like UVA/UVB rays and pollution. It didn’t separate or lift away throughout the day and it kept my skin looking radiant, glowy, dewy and most importantly, protected. TBH I’m pretty confident that I’ll be sporting this tinted SPF instead of my foundation way beyond my days in quarantine. So if you’re on the hunt for a two-in-one sunscreen and complexion product, give this Vichy option a go.
