So I’ve drawn little bits here and there for most of my life but as my love for beauty grew, I decided to combine both things. In April 2016, I was working in London and had a commute of nearly two hours each way, so to help with my travel anxiety, I would just sit with my iPad and draw people’s pictures off Instagram. Then, in June 2016, I simply decided to make a separate Instagram for it and it all spiralled from there.
What moment in your illustrating career (so far!) are you most proud of?
Probably my Look Magazine commission, as it is the first (and only) printed piece I’ve ever done thus far. It was crazy to go out and buy a magazine and see my work inside the pages, it’s something I could only dream of.
What's your favorite beauty product at the moment?
I have to say it’s probably the It Cosmetics CC Cream. I don’t love a high coverage foundation, but I still have some blemishes to cover up so this is perfect for me.
Aside from a wallet and phone, what do you keep in your bag at all times?
A lipstick or a lip balm. At the moment I always have my By Terry Balm De Rose because it’s super moisturising, compact and looks luxurious.
If you weren't illustrating, what would you be doing and why?
Probably still working in PR. Although I went to art school (University of The Arts London), I actually studied public relations. Throughout high school and college, my artistic capabilities were always put down so I followed the fashion route and went on to pursue Fashion PR.
What does beauty mean to you?
To me, beauty is more about self expression. As the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I truly believe this. I think the way people express themselves through beauty is utterly incredible.
